Usually they are highly paid actors involved, but in a reality TV show, it is very common for many people being filmed on the show to receive little or no pay for their part in the production. This is not to say that people being filmed on reality TV shows don’t receive pay; some do. However, it is usually not as much as one would received if they starred in a famous TV sitcom, even if the reality TV show was even more famous than the sitcom. This is what drew some many producers to this style of TV programming: its costs were far lower.
