Welcome to Reality TV: An Introduction

There are very few people in the western world that have not heard of Reality TV. But what is Reality TV. In this article, we are going introduce to this newly created world of TV programming. The first reality TV show ever filmned to gain wide spread acclaim was the show “Cops”. Cops was a show where camera crews followed police officers around, filming their encounters with the fringe of society. Never before had a show been filmed in such a way. Outwit, Outlast And Outplay: The Survivor Section

Survivor started in the year 2000 and jump started to reality TV craze.

Hosted by Jeff Probst, the series’ premise is that several people are taken to a tropical setting and split into two groups called “tribes”. The tribes compete against each other in contests for prizes and for immunity, which keeps a tribe from going to tribal council. At tribal council, a contestant is voted off by other tribe members each week. It can because they don’t help around camp, are weak in challenges, or because no one like them. 1.Flavor of Love
